The Rosary originated with St. Dominic in the 1200s. Desperatly praying to Our Lord and Our Lady begging them to give him a tool to defeat heresy, Our Lady appeared to him and said "Preach My Psalter". Back then, the Rosary was called "The Marian Psalter".  In spiritual warefare, the battering ram has been and always will be the Angelic Salutation (Hail Mary, Full of Grace)!
